Aussie Intro
I spent a year in Australia on a working holiday visa. I spent 6 months of this working in Melbourne and the rest of my time travelling around Australia and Tasmania.
I used a variety of travel methods. I travelled by bus, staying in hostels and going on boat trips. I also travelled by car either camping or sleeping in a customised car.
I managed to see all but one state.

States and Territories
From Wetlands to Uluru, the Northern Territory has something for everyone.
Head North for gorges, national parks, cities and culture.
New South Wales is home to the huge city of Sydney but also boasts the amazing Gold Coast with beaches galore.
Living and working in the bustling city of Melbourne plus trips in and around Victoria.
With its opal mining past and red gorges, there is much more to South Australia than Adelaide.
Perth and Upwards. The amazing West Coast.
National Parks, Coral Reef and Culture.
Completely different to mainland Australia, Tasmania with its rugged beauty, is definitely worth a visit.
Home to the incredible Great Barrier Reef and Whitsundays, this is a water lovers paradise.
Wildlife
There's a huge amount of native wildlife in Australia so keep your eyes peeled. While you can visit an animal park to see all the wildlife that Australia offers, it is quite likely that you will see them in the wild, especially if you head off the beaten track and visit a few states.
Remember to be respectful of wildlife, you are in their home. Australia has some large and potentially dangerous animals so keep your distance, adhere to signage and be sensible.
I was worried about visiting Australia as I didn't fancy coming face to face with a snake or finding a poisonous spider lurking somewhere. It turns out that it wasn't as scary as I had imagined!
Travel Tips
Be prepared. If you are heading somewhere remote think about how long it will take, does anyone know where you are going and when you expect to be back. Take provisions as necessary and always take water.
Water bottles. Most parks in Australia, except for in South Australia, have water fountains. Make use of these to refill bottles rather than carrying multiple bottles of water.
Sun protection. As always, take care under the sun but remember, Australia can get cold and wet depending on the season and the state. Take a jacket and check the forecast.
